Summary[]
VINCENT STRUGGLES TO CONTAIN HIS INNER BEAST – Cat (Kristin Kreuk) and Vincent (Jay Ryan) face a huge setback when Vincent is secretly interrogated about an impending attack, putting Vincent at his breaking point.
Plot[]
In prison, Agent Dylan tries to persuade Catherine to do the “right thing” and turn on her husband. Meanwhile, deep black ops agents interrogate and torture Vincent in some prison dungeon. Heather and Tess scrap together some cash. JT cashes in his 401K and sells all his computers to bail Cat out of prison and find Vincent. After Cat gets home, she confronts the hopelessness of their situation. She fleas to a place of solitude and comfort; Vanessa’s grave, where Heather catches up with her. Heather feels guilty about bringing Kyle into the fold. She fears losing Cat. DHS lays down the law. Tess replies “It’s not about law and order, it’s about right and wrong”. Cat questions her motives, as she cries at her mother’s grave. How much revenge for her mother’s death motivated her fight? When did it turn into something about her? Vincent's jailer beats and injects him with poison that induce many flashbacks. His interrogator yells in his face that he is nothing but a man made monster, out for revenge. That he is a killer who will rot in a dungeon forever, having ruined everyones lives. He pushes Vincent for the plans for his nonexistent attack. Vincent’s jailer tries to use Cat's love against him. As always, this backfires for any bad guy. Vincent realizes he can’t make any connection to this rogue beast because there is no beast. It doesn't take him long after that to figure out that Braxton is the one framing him. Braxton needed someone to frame after government agencies discovered Muirfield's resurrection. Vincent escapes his prison, which turns out to be on the bottom of the Hudson River. He makes his way back to Cat and the team, where he reveals what he learned. They surveil the apartment Braxton set up to appear to be Vincent’s lair, to find Braxton is in the building. Heather tries to follow and when Braxton spots her, he turns to shoot her at point blank range. Luckily Heather is OK, but the shocking incident allows Braxton to once again get away. JT and Tess flirt over some beers. Vincent and Cat reunite at the 9/11 memorial fountain, a solemn reminder of sacrifice. |
Quotes[]
JT: You said you had $4,000 in the bank.
Heather: I said I had about $4,000, okay? I rounded up.
JT: $2,300 does not round up to $4,000.
Heather: Well, news flash - I'm bad with math. And with money.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JT: Please tell me you know her password.
Heather: “VincatForEver”. Capital V, F, E, no spaces.
JT: Forever, huh? At this rate, we'll be lucky to get them one more day.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dylan: Sorry to see you in there, Chandler.
Cat: Yeah, well, you're the one who put me in here.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tess: If I told you I loved you, would you take it the wrong way?
JT: Probably.
“It doesn't matter how sweet or cute I thought he was. He stabbed my family in the back.” |
— Heather |
Cat: Maybe we should keep moving
Vincent: No. If DHS finds me here, then so be it.

Trivia[]
Catherine and Vincent are the names taken from the original BatB show from the 80's, which is also set in New York City. Additionally, the alias names used are Isabelle and Adam. In the Disney version, Belle falls for her Beast, who canonically is named Adam, though it is not mentioned in the film. That version is also set in France, where the heroes get their Happily Ever After.
